a very slow connection.
I think it's because it continuously displays two different messages:
"nntp read: 3729k" and "NNTP: Receiving articles... 55%"

These are unreproducible bugs in old versions of Gnus. The
code in question has been thoroughly updated -- and the likelihood
is that the problems are now fixed. If this is not the case, please
feel free to file a new report with any current data, and how you
managed to reproduce the problem.
