Package: blas-test
Version: 1.1-14
Tags: sarge

After package 'refblas3-test' has been installed, an attempt to install
'blas-test' will fail with
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unpacking blas-test (from .../blas-test_1.1-14_i386.deb) ...
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/blas-test_1.1-14_i386.deb
(--unpack):
trying to overwrite `/usr/share/man/man1/xsblat2.1.gz', which is also
in package refblas3-test
Errors were encountered while processing:
 /var/cache/apt/archives/blas-test_1.1-14_i386.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
------------------------------------------------------------------------

In reversed order of installation, package 'refblas3-test' is allowed to
overwrite symlinks '/usr/share/man/man1/x*.1.gz' because the newer
'refblas3-test' has a 'Replaces: blas-test'.

The two should probably either conflict with each other (just as
'lapack-test' and 'lapack3-test', for example) or have the set of
conflicting man page files dealt with in some other way.

I have not filed this as a bug of 'refblas3-test', as 'blas-test' alone
is affected (and broken) by this.

Cheers,
Alex

This package has been removed from Debian since it's superseded by a
new version (atlas3). I think your bug is specific to version 2 (or
that there's already one for v3) but if that's not the case, please
let me know.
