Hi Guilherme,

First of all I would like to stress that I strongly encourage users to
keep emacs21 installed, emacs-snapshot is a development version and can
be buggy. Having emacs21 as a fallback is much safer. Besides, emacs21
isn't a large package by today's standards.

This is due to the fact that these packages have an explicit dependency
on 'emacs21 | xemacs21', which does not include the virtual package
'emacsen', or emacs-snapshot. This is not a bug in emacs-snapshot.

For erc, I sponsored a package from Michael Olson earlier today which
fixes the problem. It will be available in a few hours from the
mirrors.

I will file a bug report against Gnus about this. As for python-mode, I
don't know if it's useful with emacs-snapshot, as a user you probably
know better than me so I'll let you file a bug if you feel it's necessary.

Thanks,
