Did you previously go back, *select "Partition disks"* again and go back again ? If so, some required filesystems may have been unmounted so that the disks are ready to be partitioned and formatted again, and this may have caused the error.

- *i did that - but the error occured after following all steps..
i only wend back after the initial error.. it skipped those..

You wrote in your initial mail :

it asked me to enter the drive/part
to give the grub a home...
i was in doubt, had to be sure.
and Jumped back into 'schijfbeheer'
*Yes, i had to manually enter a (/dev/)sd[x] entry
and i had to be sure since multiple drives exist in the system
*

*I Clarify: *
/i wend through all steps - then grub install failed
i tried to restart grub install -it failed,
returned to main options menu, tried grub install
it asked me to enter boot-disk manually..
wend back to partition disk .. verified it was the right medium
it then jumped to the grub installer, that failed again
and then i entered the shell where i executed the proper
commands.. that fixed the issue..
(had to lookup this solution)

What is "schijfbeheer" ? Isn't it "partition disks" ?
