My issue has to do with the boot up process as it has to do with a fresh
installation, as well as a default arrangement of various parts, but
particularly networking.

As I understand it, systemd is the currently used service configuration suite
for the OS.  With that said, the choice of network management could fall to
ifupdown, NetworkManager, systemd-networkd or networking.service.

I recently installed Debian 12 on a ThinkPad 2-in-1 laptop and got a strange
situation in networking.  However, to solve the problem, I need to know certain
facts first, and particular questions need answering from the Debian team.

Is systemd the current service configuration setup?
Is systemd-networkd the current network methodology or even a preferred one?

Thank you.
