John,

Yes, quite a few of us were surprised to see it grab a dhcp address and come
right up. If you want an alternative to debian/ubuntu, the is armedslack,
Slackware distribution for ARM and Sheevaplugs as an arm package. Very slick
so far... armedslack.org
