The new release adds improved support for NAS devices. You can find a list of changes and improvements at http://www.cyrius.com/journal/debian/nas-lenny-rc1 NSLU2 users: firmware images with the IXP4xx microcode can be found at slug-firmware.net QNAP users: if you have not installed Debian yet, I suggest you wait about two more works. QNAP is currently working on a new firmware with a recovery mode which should be out at the end of November.
