Greetings! I am new to Debian.
I am trying to install madplay_0.15.2b-3.1_arm.deb available from http://packages.debian.org/stable/sound/madplay on the ARM Versatile PB-ARM926EJ-S development board. The cramfs package is debian based. When I try to install using: dpkg -i madplay_0.15.2b-3.1_arm.deb i get the following error: dpkg: unable to access dpkg status area: No such file or directory I copied the madplay_0.15.2b-3.1_arm.deb file to /tmp as my / is present in flash and is read-only. Is there anything that needs to be configured to install .deb packages? I get the same error if I try to install any .deb package. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, K Shakthi ____________________________________________________ Start your day with Yahoo! - make it your home page http://www.yahoo.com/r/hs -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
