I had aboot version 0.9.  The system had been originally loaded from
Debian 3.0 disks when they first became available.  I just now reloaded
the system from Debian 3.0r1 disks.  Now I can boot to a copy of
the kernel in /boot2 just fine.  A "network problem" I had that had
prompted me to want to try a new kernel went away too.
