Hi

I’ve been on 3.1.6 on our production server for a day now (having tested it
for a week or two with 2 e-mail accounts on a test machine with no issues).

As far as userland is concerned no one is reporting any differences, which
is normally a good thing.

That said we are still seeing missing subjectfields and/or incorrect
date/time or from fields in e-mails. This only occurs on Thunderbird (i.e.
not Outlook, Squirelmail, Roundcube or K9). Given we never saw this on the
test server (1 account using Thunderbird) it would make sense if it’s a load
issue.

I have also seen the following error on the production server which I have
never seen before 3.1.6

Sep 24 16:16:09 cwagate dbmail/imap4d[56458]: Alert:[db] db_con_get(+255):
Thread is having trouble obtaining a database connection. Try [0]

I’m quite regularly seeing the original/main dbmail-imapd thread using 100%
of a core (with any child processes idle) for a few seconds before normal
service is resumed and after a day it’s up to 1gig of memory which surprises
me a bit; but I haven’t kept an eye on this information before really so
can’t state if it’s unusual.

I’ve seen that 3.1.7 came out at the end of our first day of 3.1.6 and will
update to it shortly to gain the benefit of cleaning out the header tables!
I assume a header whitelist is still on the cards “one day”?

Daniel
