Just try it Robert. I don't remember the exact changes from 2rc5 to 2.0, but I don't think the database layout was changed significantly: just some indexes added and removed here and there. And o yeah: the is_header field was added to the dbmail_messageblks table.

Hello all.

Short question: Can I use the 2.0.3 version of dbmail-lmtpd/smtp to insert mail into a mysql db setup by the 2.0rc5 script? I can see there have been slight changes, but are they relevant?

Background: I have dbmail 2.0rc5 setup in a cygwin environment. I had to hack it to pieces, why I don't want to attempt upgrading as it works ;-) Now, I am setting up a new box, which will replace the old one in due time, and in the meantime I want to share database with the old installation (there are reasons why I need to do it that way). All else (maintenance, imapd, pop3d and some smtp) will still be of the 2.0rc5 edition.

So, can I use my somewhat freshly installed 2.0.3 to insert ail, or should I compile an extra dbmail-lmtpd-2.0rc5 to do the job?

Regards,
Robert Andersson
