Excuse my terrible spelling, and secondly i found the problem. Unless pgsql is conpiled with ssl and crypt the library wont be there, therefore perhaps there should be some kind of check when it creates the makefile.

dbmail fails to recognize any of the librarys on make. im running slack 9. perhaps its not searching the right directorys?
