Description: I am using dbmail on a Debian 'unstable' box. I have added the following to my /etc/apt/sources.list file to get the dbmail packages: deb http://debian.nfgd.net/debian/ unstable main
I was doing an upgrade via "aptitude dist-upgrade" On upgrading the dbmail2-mysql from version 2.0.7-2 to 2.0.7+20050927-1 I encountered a problem. At the time of the upgrade, the mysql-server-5.0 pacakge was also being upgraded. When it came time for the dbmail2-mysql package to do some configuration, it failed because the mysql server had been shutdown for the upgrade. Somehow the dbmail2-mysql package needs to wait for the mysql-server-5.0 package to finish being upgraded first, before attempthing its own configuration. Perhaps this is handled with a pre-depends clause or something? Also on the failure it reported that you can try to reconfigure it manually later by running "dpkg-reconfigure dbmail", but this is incorrect, it should have said to run "dpkg-reconfigure dbmail2-mysql". It's nothing critical, but I figured that I'd report it to make upgrades smoother in the future. ====================================================================== ---------------------------------------------------------------------- aaron - 03-Jun-06 06:38 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Is this issue still relevant? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- paul - 30-Sep-06 19:52 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm closing this with a wont-fix.
