Please send your resume to [email protected] Duration: 1 year LOCATION:MT *** * * *Staff Augmentation* *System Administrator* * * *Project Background:-* Our Client currently utilizes a system to support routine disease surveillance that ensures rapid reporting of disease trends which aids in controlling outbreaks. This system is hosted by an application service provider (ASP). Client intends to bring this system in-house and host it on their equipment. This contracted position will assist in transferring the system and *have primary responsibility for the setup, operation and maintenance of the system*. Additionally, he/she will be *responsible for all data exchanges and messaging activities relative to the transferred system*. * * This is a temporary contracted position, lasting up to one year. This contracted position will be *responsible for training and transferring knowledge* to the staff prior to the end of the engagement.** * * *Responsibilities:* * * 1. Implement and maintain the environment for hosting the System. This environment consists of web, database and application servers and a variety of software products. a) Install, configure, update and maintain software necessary for operation of web, application and database servers including: MS SQL Server software MS IIS Web Server software JBOSS and Apache / Tomcat. b) Ensure that the Agency System environment is secure and adheres to applicable security policies. c) Assist in troubleshooting hardware, software and network problems that may or may not be in our environment and work with appropriate staff, contractors and vendors to resolve issues. d) Perform day to day database administration tasks such as space allocation and performance tuning. e) Apply software enhancements and updates to the system as they are made available. 2. Design, implement and maintain automated processes for transferring incoming and outgoing data and messages to and from the System. These exchanges will occur with the Agency health laboratory, various surveillence / tracking systems and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). a. Work with program staff to gather and analyze business requirements. b. Design automated solutions for transferring data and messages. c. Install, configure, update and maintain data and messaging exchange software, such as Rhapsody and eWebit. d. Work closely with CDC and other data / message exchange partners to create, test and implement exchange processes. e. Ensure complete and accurate transfer of data and messages with CDC and other partners. f. Troubleshoot and correct issues with data / message exchange processes. 3. Maintain a working knowledge of methods, standards and techniques related to Public Health and Health Information exchange. At a minimum this includes a throrough understanding of HIPAA data privacy standards and the HL7 messaging format. 4. Document work and procedures required to perform System administration and day to day operational tasks. Conduct training and perform knowledge transfer to Agency staff prior to the end of the engagement. *Skills Required:* * * · Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work with diverse staff and end users. · Demonstrates organizational skills. This includes the ability to break a major project into smaller tasks, and manage multiple tasks and work flow. · Demonstrates problem-solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines and budgets. · Proven ability to design and implement large, complex, information systems. · Extensive knowledge and understanding of the concepts, theories, and developmental aspects of computer science, operating systems, equipment configurations and interrelationships and software applications for PC and mid-tier computer systems and the ability to independently apply the knowledge to develop new practices and procedures and to meet agency demands especially in the area of n-tier business applications.
