Was hoping to get some help as by next weeks call the EULA/ToS will be
finalising on a definitions for the three types of data (nouns) and
the four types of portability (verbs).

One of the verbs (export) doesn't have an agreed name yet, but below
I've got my name sharing which I will propose on next weeks call. The
reason I am posting however is because I was wondering if people could
help fine tune the definitions I've come up with.

Any feedback welcome.

-----------

Nouns: scope of data
Three broad categories relate to the objects that can be used:

1) Online Identity
Is a representation of an entity. It is data that makes an entity
definable and recognisable, in terms of possessing a set of qualities
or characteristics that distinguish it from entities of a different
type.

2) Digital Content
Are expressions by an entity. It is data that generates an experience
for those that interact with it, such as interpretation, entertainment
or reflection.

3) Metadata
Is data about data. It is data that is used to facilitate the
understanding, characteristics, and management usage of data. An item
of metadata may describe an individual datum, or content item, or a
collection of data including multiple content items and hierarchical
levels

Verbs: scope of portability
Four categories exist as to what can be done with data

1) “Open Arms”. The ability to access your data from another
environment, through an import or approved viewing.

2) “Sharing” (export). The ability to access your data in another
environment, through export or approved access

3) “Ever fresh”. The ability to update your data across multiple
services in synchrony.

4) “Graceful exit”. The ability to remove your data from one or all
systems.

Thoughts on the above definitions? Please note that the actual three
nouns and four verbs are what the task force thinks and agrees on -
the definitions are my own.
