That said, Emmanuel and I did the work (nothing difficult) to get machinist 
working with DM and I actually now think machinist is a dead project.  The guy 
who writes it is based here in Melbourne and appears to have lost interest in 
it.  We'll probably move to FactoryGirl when we have chance to migrate our 
fixtures (I haven't looked into if this is feasible or not).
