That was the point of my message - Linux doesn't require that it has enough RAM + swap to satisfy all memory allocations. Solaris does. If Linux gets caught in this trick, the kernel finds a process to kill to free memory. -- Mike Gerdts http://mgerdts.blogspot.com/
