Been looking through old threads to evaluate end goals. This thread crosses
into issues I need clarification on.
I am seeing this as Mr. Russell. That is a grammatical error/nonerror to a
copyright statement. But it could be a syntax change to a line of code which
would in turn will somewhat change manipulated data blocks. I am sure solaris
would rather us not add any syntax to installed read-only files but I have been
routinely adding a . after the hostname file to speed start-up and shut-down.
My thinking (Please forgive, I do not have a proper word association hopefully
you can find a logical reference to words I'm choosing) was the .nothing
brought the machine a half step out of unqualified anonymous server to a
possible self-qualified @nowhere spot. This to me seemed at best a host-right
infringement never thought in terms of copy-right.
My thinking has been use of openly distributed code is more subject to a
license agreement than a copyright. I am still trying to better understand
specific local configuration within a machine. For me computer is a form of
entertainment learning by mistake and trial & error. Do I need to be lyre of a
copyright if the machine is held in intranet or even anonymous client.
