Hi, I have been using beagle for a research project related to search index performance (time to build, size of index) on realistic file systems (with the right distribution of files and directories, file sizes, types etc). Also looking at cost of different indexing options and its sensitivity to file system content.
One goal of my work is to help application designers understand the impact of realistic file systems on their application's performance, and also to enable making the right design decisions. I was wondering how you currently evaluate beagle's index performance, and decide on tradeoffs between different indexing options? Do you have some sort of in-house case base of test file systems? thanks for your time, Nitin --- Nitin Agrawal PhD student University of Wisconsin Madison
