GDC on Mac OSX

What's the status of GDC on Mac? I'm looking to build it but 
can't find any guide anywhere. Do I basically just follow the 
Linux instructions? I'm a little weary of overwriting Apple's GCC 
install (4.2.1 LLVM). Any pointers?
