there are 2 requests for implementation approaches one is to enumerate all the holes and do everything in parallel afterward another is to walk the holes and do separate batches in parallel.
i guess i'd like to try reimplementing hole walking from scratch. accepting a habit of changing approahces in a way i don't control has resulted in unproductive fugue states in the past [...?
