Can you spell "Police State"? You might want to practice, because that's
what we live in. At one time, long before I was born, this was a free
country, a voluntary association of independent states and individuals. The
Federal Government was given specific functions and authority in the
constitution, and was specifically prohibited from doing anything else. In
other words, the government had laws that it was supposed to obey.
Unfortunately it didn't take long for George Washington to illegally call
out federal troops to put down the Whiskey Rebellion. Things would probably
be much different today if the rebellion had been successful, but the
farmers lost, and the federal government was elevated above the constraints
of the law.
During War of Northern Aggression, Lincoln demolished any pretext of legal
restraints on the action of the federal government, and completely
destroyed the concept of a free country made up of independent states
voluntarily associated for their mutual benefit. To call the United States
of America a free country is a mockery of the word "free" when it is made
up of states that are part of a conquered nation and are now ruled by force.
The federal government has no constitutional jurisdiction over child
custody cases. But the predawn raid by federal storm troopers to snatch
Elian Gonzales is just one more demonstration that the federal government
is no longer bound by the constitution. And if there is no hard edge the
government can up against, but cannot pass over even the slightest little
bit, then it is a cancer that will grow until it consumes every last
vestige of our human rights, liberty, and dignity, or until it is killed
off completely.
There is no middle ground. Friedrich Hayek said the inevitable result of
socialism is tyranny. I frequently hear someone say "We get the government
we deserve". Meaning we deserve the tyranny for electing our oppressors.
Which is absolute bullshit. This chain of events was set in motion long
before any of us were born. At this country's current level of socialism it
is not surprising that we have a President like Bill Clinton, an Attorney
General like Janet Reno, and FBI, ATF, INS, and IRS storm troopers/terrorists.
At this level of socialism we couldn't have anything else. And as the tide
of socialism progresses, the tyranny and the tyrants will get increasingly
worse, until Bill Clinton will look like Mother Theresa in comparison.
The federal government must die. It must cease to exist. It must go the way
of the dinosaurs before we go the way of Hitler's Holocaust victims.
