  1.  Palm, Inc. Opens Japanese Subsidiary

On March 15, Palm, Inc. announced the establishment of a wholly owned
Japanese subsidiary, Palm Computing K.K., to provide sales, marketing and
support for handheld computing customers in Japan.   Headquartered in
Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, Palm Computing K.K. will sell the Japanese versions of
Palm branded products through approximately 300 computer and consumer
electronics stores throughout Japan. Palm Computing K.K. will also expand
Palm's Japanese distribution network, user support and developer programs.

Palm Computing K.K also announced today the launch of the Palm IIIc and
Palm Vx handheld computers in Japan.  Both new products are equipped with
the latest Japanese version of Palm OS software and are expected to be
available in Japan on April 15.

  2.  Palm, Inc. CDK 4.0 Compatible with Visual C++ 6.0 SP3

Palm's latest Conduit Development Kit (CDK 4.0) has been updated to be
compatible with Visual C++ 6.0 Service Pack 3 installed.  There are two
downloads available for CDK 4.0. One is compatible with Visual C++ 6.0,
no Service Packs installed. The other is compatible with Visual C++ 6.0,
Service Pack 3 installed. Please note, these Service Packs are Visual C++
Service Packs or DevStudio Service Packs. This does not refer to Windows
95/98/NT or Windows 2000 Service Packs.

New features included in the CDK C/C++ for Windows:
- Ability to build and debug conduits compatible with HotSync(R) 2.0 and
  3.0 using Microsoft Visual C++ 6.x.
- Palm(R) Conduit Wizard supporting the Generic Conduit as well as the
  MFC-based conduit samples.
- Addition of Conduit Inspector to assist in debugging conduits.
- Addition of Conduit Switch and User Info to assist in developing
  conduits.
- Sample source code and project files for the Address Book, Memo Pad,
  and Date Book conduits based on the Generic Conduit.
- Sample source code and project files for the conduits found in Palm
  Desktop software version 3.1.
- Updated Install Aide API for automated installation of Palm OS(R)
  applications.
- Updated Conduit Manager API for automated installation of conduits.
- Updated User Data API for manipulating HotSync user data.
- Sample source code for an InstallShield-based conduit installer

  5.  TRG Releases New AutoCF Feature

TRGproducts will be releasing the new AutoCF feature that allows TRGpro
users to access programs and databases from CompactFlash storage cards.
Now programs and databases of any size can be accessed directly from an

  10.  TRG Announces ImagePro V2.00 with RAM Loader

TRG Products has announced ImagePro Deployment Manager Version 2.
ImagePro is a software product that provides functions to build and load
custom software images for Palm OS devices (Palm, IBM WorkPad, Symbol
17xx, TRGpro).   ImagePro is an enterprise and VAR tool for dramatically
reducing the deployment and support costs for Palm OS applications.

Version 2 enhances the popular TRG ImagePro software functions by adding
the following:
1. New RAM loader capabilities.  Now ImagePro Palm OS software images can
   be Flash-only,  Flash+RAM, or RAM-only.
2. Support for Palm OS 3.5
3. Support for new devices, including Palm IIIc, IIIxe, and
   IBM WorkPad 50u
4. New lower entry pricing options
5. Three new ImagePro Editions to offer packaging and pricing

  11. HANDHELD 2000

HANDHELD 2000 Developer Conference in Stockholm, Sweden, June 7-8 2000

There is a rapidly increasing interest in handheld devices as a component
in business critical solutions. Dataforeningen Kompetens (The Swedish
Society of Information Processing) is gathering the development community
