April 2000 Cypherpunks Meeting(s). (Yes, two (2) meetings.) The April Physical Meetings of the Global Cypherpunk Conspiracy will be held in two physical locations on 08 April 2000 (the usual Second Saturday). Bill Stewart has already sent out the San Francisco Bay Area Meeting info, so I'm sending out the Toronto meeting info by email. We hope this dual meeting thing is a harbinger of multiple international simultaneous meetings on the "Second Saturday of the month" in the future. If you're a Cypherpunk and want to have a meeting where you live --doesn't matter where-- just send email to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]?subject=new%20mtg%20in%20...> and we'll help you reach a wide audience of like-minded individuals. --Dave Del Torto ............................................................................ TORONTO (Canada) WHERE: Toronto City Hall (north of Nathan Phillips Square) Conference Room #2 TIME: 1:00 - 6:00 pm Eastern Time (10am-3pm Pacific) Toronto Meeting Agenda: + CFP2000 Round-up (general discussion) + "Freedom.net" (a Zero Knowledge geek will reveal the secrets they know about you) + "Rolling Your Own PGP" (panel on compiling PGP source code) + Waterloo-crypto-tech-something (someone from Univ of Waterloo will stand & deliver something techie) + "KRIPTOPOLIS.com" (Cypherpunks in Spain? apparently it's true! see for yourself.) + Crypto Law Update (Cindy Cohn remote from the SF Bay Area mtg + any lawyers from CFP) + CryptoRights Root PGP Key (Meta-Introducer key presentation) + PGP Keysigning + ...more? + dinner somewhere nearby afterwards, as usual. Possibly Tapas! ** Toronto Meeting Notes: There's Internet access in the Toronto's City Hall, and a mic at every panel chair and lots of fancy AV gear, so we may be able to arrange some interesting connectivity to Cupertino (not to mention the CSE nearby, hello CSE lads!). To ensure that the secret recordings are at least accurate, we may arrange things like realtime IRC chats or even videoconferencing --all in the clear for our spook pals!-- if technology infrastructures on both ends and timezones permit. The most likely timeframe for realtime whatever is the approximate middle, from 1-2pm in Cupertino and 4-4pm in Toronto. "CFP 2000" is being held in Toronto from 4-7 April (CFP = the "Computers, Freedom & Privacy" conference <http://www.cfp2000.org/>). Many of the Usual Suspects will still be there on Saturday April 8th (the Second Saturday). There will be a Party at Ian's Place afterwards, but you must be physically present in Toronto to learn more about it. EOF
