Palm OS(R) SDK version 3.5 now available The completed Palm OS SDK version 3.5 is now available on the Palm web site at http://www.palm.com/devzone/tools/sdk35.html This SDK can be used in conjunction with CodeWarrior for Palm Computing(R) Platform r6 on Windows and MacOS-based computers, and with the gcc-based PRC-Tools toolset, to create applications for all Palm OS platform handheld computers. The major enhancement in this release is the support for color devices in Palm OS version 3.5. For more information about Palm OS version 3.5, you may view a software overview of the release at http://www.palm.com/devzone/docs/palmos35.html This version of the SDK also contains a unified library and header organization such that all Palm OS development (including Palm VII(TM) development and Japanese development) can now be done with one set of headers and libraries. The SDK also includes improved versions of some CodeWarrior components, to fix a variety of bugs. Before using the SDK, we strongly recommend that you read the Read Me file contained inside the main installer. Release Note 3/9/2000: All items in the SDK are based upon the release of Palm OS software version 3.5 and are considered released versions. The versions of Constructor for Palm OS software on Mac OS and Windows are labeled as beta and will be continually updated, as will the documentation. Please review the notes in the Read Me for the latest information on changes in Constructor. There is a known bug in Constructor that under certain screen depths on Windows 95 and 98, red and blue shades can be incorrectly swapped. Palm is working on a fix which should be available soon, but you can work around the bug by using a different screen depth or by using Windows NT. Platform Development Services
