It took some three years for the Echelon story to migrate from cpunks-like forums (obscure & irrelevant due to low exposure) to mainstream media [which probably means that Echelon itself has been abandoned and its empty shell is used as the front for something else, but that's another rant.] So I tried to figure out what is circulating today on these forums, that may hit media monopolies in 2003. And I could not find anything worth mentioning. The gap is closing, and not due to dilligence of mass media. There is no fresh stuff. The space has filled with routine redigesting, with nobodies that have nothing to say but do it with zest, and I wonder where are the individuals who do have stories to say. Am I missing something ? Did they move to spread spectrum off-Moon-bouncing communications ? Can someone post the frequency, please ?
