It is possible to manufacture at home a submachinegun with parts purchased from
the local hardware store.
of course to do this is illegal, nevertheless, observe the .45 cal M2 " grease
gun". The entire gun is made of stamped sheet metal with the exception of the
barrel/ reciever and the bolt. The barrel/ reciever is just steel tubing, sized
to accept the .45 acp round, simple enough to make with a drill press and taper
reamer. The bolt has a fixed firing pin, simplicity itself , can be made from a
finishing nail. The bolt can be laid up from fender washers secured on a 1/4 20
bolt, drilled to accept the firing pin. The recoil spring can be purchased, or
made from .20 ga piano wire. The upper amd lower recievers can be cut with a
jigsaw and metal blade from 20 ga steel rectangular tubing. Any fairly competent
home handy man could make one in .45 or 9mm in just a few evenings... will they
now outlaw hand tools??
