Dear eGroups List Owner,

eGroups recently merged with ONElist, another leading provider of
email groups. Since the merger, we've been working hard behind the
scenes to ensure a smooth integration of the two services. Part of
this process requires that all groups have unique addresses (i.e.,
[EMAIL PROTECTED]). We are contacting you because your group,
[EMAIL PROTECTED], has the same address as another group
on the new service.

We've been working closely with our moderators to develop a system for
determining which groups will need a new address. This system takes
into account the following criteria:

1. How long the group has been in existence on the eGroups service
2. The size of the group
3. The activity level of the group
4. Whether the group is an announcement group or a discussion group

Over the next few days, we'll use this system to identify which groups
will need a new address. If your group does need a new address, you
will receive an email from us on or before February 22, 2000. If you
do not receive an email from us, then your group will not need to be
renamed.

If you own the same list address on both the eGroups and ONElist
services, you can choose to delete one of the groups and still retain
the address. Or you can allow us to change the address of one of the
groups. Either way, you'll end up owning the address you want.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation throughout this process.

Sincerely,

The eGroups Team
