Indeed. I have often wondered about that. During the Gulf War, I was in
a bar and I stated a few opinions about that whole fiasco -- and another
patron's response was 'What are you some kinda commie?'
Now, just what Communism has to do with America's oil consumption, and
status as the international police officer is beyond me, but it does
agree with the basic idea that 'what the american public doesn't know is
what makes them the american public.'
Not that I have any love for communist/socialist governments; but that
is hardly a conclusion since I have no love for governments in general.
