I have a file with a character 0xf028 in the name, which seems to break Cygwin's file name conversion routine. I took a cursory look through the code and I am going to try to step through it with a debugger but I thought maybe someone already has an idea how to make Cygwin to play nice with it?
Here's what I get when I try ls -l in the folder which contains the file: $ ls -l ls: cannot access c._APS PROGRESS Home(: No such file or directory total 6784417 <snip> -rwxrwx---+ 1 Administrators SYSTEM 211 Dec 30 2008 boot.ini -?????????? ? ? ? ? ? c._APS PROGRESS Home( drwx------+ 1 Administrators None 0 Jan 27 14:38 chroot drwx------+ 1 denis None 0 Jun 19 2007 cpuz -rw-r--r-- 1 ???????? ???????? 2145964032 Jul 22 09:53 hiberfil.sys drwxrwxr-x+ 1 Administrators SYSTEM 0 May 1 2007 i386 drwx------+ 1 denis None 0 Jul 18 16:25 m -rwx------+ 1 denis None 3391324160 Sep 26 2007 movie.iso -r-xr-x---+ 1 Administrators SYSTEM 250048 Dec 30 2008 ntldr -rw-r--r-- 1 ???????? ???????? 1409286144 Jul 22 09:53 pagefile.sys Thanks!
