My apache still lock up after awhile after starting the services. :(
I have tried apache_1.3.27-i686-whatever-cygwin.targz from
www.apache.org, apache-1.3.33-1 & apache-1.3.33-2 out of the box install.
apache will lock up after awhile with these messages in the logs:
Thu Mar 30 12:57:13 2006] [notice] child pid 1092 exit signal User
defined signal 2 (31).
Anyone experiencing the same problem or known for to fix?
Many thanks.
Kent.

Hi,
I install cygwin 1.5.19 with apache-1.3.33-2 out of the box. I then
started the apache server with default configs. I can browse the
"Seeing this instead of the website you expected?" page and clicking
around the apache documentation page ok, but eventually the server will
hang within a minute or few minutes. I have to restart the server and
same eventually happens.
I checked the errors logs it has the following lines:
[Thu Mar 30 12:57:13 2006] [notice] child pid 1092 exit signal User
defined signal 2 (31)
[Thu Mar 30 12:57:13 2006] [notice] child pid 1004 exit signal User
defined signal 2 (31)
[Thu Mar 30 12:58:43 2006] [notice] child pid 1412 exit signal User
defined signal 2 (31)
[Thu Mar 30 13:02:13 2006] [notice] child pid 1456 exit signal User
defined signal 2 (31)
[Thu Mar 30 13:15:31 2006] [notice] child pid 1472 exit signal User
defined signal 2 (31)
This seems to correspond to the default number of 5 "StartServers" in
/etc/apache/httpd.conf. If I start with 1 StartServer, I can do browse
around until 1 of the "child pid n exit ..." msg appears then it hangs
again. If I start more servers it take longer to hang but it still
hangs in the end. What could be wrong?
I tried reinstall cygwin and tried apache-1.3.33-1 still the same.
I didn't have any problems from an older installation I tried a year ago
but I had to format the machine.
I search the web but cannot find any solution to this. Anyone else
having this problem?
My system is:
Windows 2000 with SP4 & latest updates & patches.
CYGWIN_NT-5.0 kent-nb 1.5.19(0.150/4/2) 2006-01-20 13:28 i586 Cygwin
Any help is highly appreciated.
thanks.
Kent.
