I note this behaviour between gv and ghostscript: $ gv foo.pdf &
works fine i.e. it loads and display the PDF file. But $ gv & and then File|Open|foo.pdf gives: _______________________________________ GPL Ghostscript 8.50: Unrecoverable error, exit code 1 Error: /invalidfileaccess in --file-- Operand stack: (/tmp/Operatori.pdf) (r) Execution stack: %interp_exit .runexec2 --nostringval-- --nostringval-- --nostringval-- 2 %stopped_push --nostringval-- --nostringval-- --nostringval-- false 1 %stopped_push 1 3 %oparray_pop 1 3 %oparray_pop 1 3 %oparray_pop 1 3 %oparray_pop .runexec2 --nostringval-- --nostringval-- --nostringval-- 2 %stopped_push --nostringval-- Dictionary stack: --dict:1115/1686(ro)(G)-- --dict:0/20(G)-- --dict:75/200(L)-- --dict:105/127(ro)(G)-- --dict:247/347(G)-- Current allocation mode is local _______________________________________ Could you explain this? I have W2K SP4 with all cygwin packages installed and upgraded. The above behaviour is present with ghostscript 8.15 series BUT NOT with 7.05-2 and ONLY with PDF file: with postscript file all works fine.
