Nothing seems out of the ordinary.

Have you tried the obvious, roll back binutils to a previous version?  Or any
other tool/library that was changed.

Not much help I know, but as I said, the linker output looks fine until it
crashes.  A signal 11 usually means a corrupted executable with an illegal
instruction.
