Umm, first off: $ cat /proc/registry/HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/sshd/Parameters/AppArgs -De $ (which indicates the absense of the newline in that value), so you have to at least use "echo -n". Secondly: $ echo -n "-Der" > /proc/registry/HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/sshd/Parameters/AppArgs bash: /proc/registry/HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/sshd/Parameters/AppArgs: Read only file system $ AFAIR, /proc/registry has always been read-only. What you *can* do, however, is: $ regtool -- set /HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/sshd/Parameters/AppArgs "-Der" $ HTH, Igor -- http://cs.nyu.edu/~pechtcha/ |\ _,,,---,,_ [EMAIL PROTECTED] ZZZzz /,`.-'`' -. ;-;;,_ [EMAIL PROTECTED] |,4- ) )-,_. ,\ ( `'-' Igor Pechtchanski, Ph.D. '---''(_/--' `-'\_) fL a.k.a JaguaR-R-R-r-r-r-.-.-.
