Unfortunately, what you've said so far gives us very few specifics about your system setup or what you're trying to do. Please visit <http://cygwin.com/problems.html>, read it thoroughly, and provide the specific information it requests. Also, we need to know specifically what you're doing and the problems you see. A minimal example of the steps you take and the results you get is best. It may be helpful to include /etc/passwd and /etc/groups as well (it can't hurt).
