David, while what you say may be true, it's just another example of the problem of sadly misplaced values. It's not that far off from the niggardly way teachers are compensated in the U.S. On the other hand, if you know how to manipulate human emotions to get lots of people to buy your (employer's) stuff, you'll be compensated handsomely, though you're contributing less than nothing to your society.
C'est la vie. So it goes. Ain't life grand?
