You're using Tbird - go into Tools/Options/Composition tab/Send Options button/When sending.../Convert the message to plain text/Plain Text Domains tab/Add/cygwin.com/Add/sourceware.org - only text will then be sent to the list and attachments will not be encoded. -- Take care.
