I have to get some work done in cygwin, so I uninstalled the Win update.
Cygwin (mintty) is working as it should with the Win updated backed out.
I will try to reinstall the Win update and Rebaseall later today.
I don't think there were errors when I did the cygwin install (Sept. 21).

The only mystery here is why the normal auto-rebase at the end of setup.exe’s
run failed. Are you failing to report some errors you got from the postinst
scripts?
