Windows 7 Pro 64-bit: After full installation of setup-x86_64 - done repeatedly to correct any errors and misses - there still is a fatal error when starting Cygwin64 Terminal, "Windows is searching for minty" with a "Browse" button option. However, it can't be found anywhere on the hard drive. I downloaded a version of mintty 1.0.3 from a download site and unzipped all the content but no mintty executable can be found there either.
Right. This is not a supported way of obtaining and installing a package. It won't work. While it's understandable that you might experiment some trying to get things working, this approach isn't a viable option.
Any suggestions on how to repair the Cygwin setup-x86_64 installation to have mintty ?
