mksh is "Cygwin's ksh". I can't really blame someone for not wanting to hack their code to handle CRLF, especially knowing the ugliness (i.e., lseek()) that needs to go on in the Cygwin DLL to handle this. I wish, in retrospect, I hadn't been talked into having "text mode" there in the first place. I'm entiredly convinced that it isn't worth the time to retrofit support for CRLF into something that doesn't already support it given the existence of easy methods to convert CRLF -> LF. And, maybe I'm missing something but it seems like Thorsten even provided an interesting workaround so it doesn't seem like he's being even a tiny bit unreasonable. cgf -- Problem reports: http://cygwin.com/problems.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/ Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple
