The lock file, /var/spool/mail/gustav.lock, which wasn't there originally, is > there now and remains unremoved. > 3. There is an entry in /var/log/exim/exim_panic.log that looks as follows: > > root@yanchep $ cat exim_panic.log > 2011-10-26 13:33:46 LTOOS9-0002MK-LW failed to read delivery status for > gus...@yanchep.ovpit.indiana.edu from delivery subprocess > 2011-10-26 13:33:46 LTOOS9-0002MK-LW appendfile transport process > returned non-zero status 0x0001: terminated by signal 1 root@yanchep $
I was able to replicate the problem on Windows 7: The delivery process crashes because it can't load winmm.dll 16:06:33 3572 writing data block fd=6 size=1 timeout=0 6 [main] exim 3572 C:\Program Files\cygwin\bin\exim-4.76-1.exe: *** fatal error - unable to load C:\Windows\system32\winmm.dll, Win32 error 1114 16:06:33 5620 LOG: MAIN PANIC 16:06:33 5620 failed to read delivery status for phumblet@phumblet-lap01w from delivery subprocess So it's a Cygwin issue... I think it has been discussed before but I am not sure if there is a solution.
