Yes. No. See http://code.google.com/p/mintty/issues/detail?id=56 for
more than you want to know about this.

The workaround is to invoke such programs through 'cygstart'.
Alternatively, the 'conin' wrapper mentioned in that thread should
work fairly well for Python.
