I have fixed Cygwin issues as well, and the MAP_RESERVE implementation in Cygwin was for the sake of SWI Prolog in the first place. Oh well. Having said that, I think Jan is right and your subject line is a bit harsh. Nobody can support every single system and all he says is that somebody else has to provide the patches.
