The reason for this suggestion is twofold. I like this even more. Yeah, we'll go the dl-script way; for the initial release, there will be no catalogs included, however, I modified the cygwin-specific README with instructions for downloading the previously included tycho*.fits from my own server. With future updates, we can have a fuller index from Tycho at f.e. AstroTortillas site, or then people will just request the indices from astrometry.net, which is the default procedure anyway. > I have to admit, it was pretty painful. Yes, while I'm far too happy to have a free astrometrical solver to actually complain, the codebase sure isn't in the best of shapes for porting purposes.
