Automake is a tool for automatically generating `Makefile.in' files compliant with the GNU Coding Standards. This package contains the latest version of the automake system in the automake-1.8.x series, automake-1.8.5.
This cygwin package, automake1.8, can be installed without conflict alongside the existing automake1.10, automake1.9, automake1.7, automake1.6, automake1.5, and automake1.4 cygwin packages. This is the first release specific for cygwin-1.7; the only differences between this package and the simultaneously-released automake1.8-1.8.5-4 for cygwin-1.5 are documentation related (the README references cygport-0.9.2 and cygwin-1.7.0-30, and the /usr/share/doc/ layout is influenced by the cygport changes between 0.4.0 and 0.9.2). Changes (automake1.8-1.8.5-3 ---> automake1.8-1.8.5-10) * This version marks the beginning of cygwin-1.7 specific ports. Releases 1.8.5-4 thru 1.8.5-9 are reserved for cygwin-1.5. * Update packaging to use stock cygport-0.9.2 * Fix setup.hint * Import fixes from gentoo so that tests pass, when this version of automake is used with autoconf-2.6x or with newer versions of gettext. * Ensure distcheck passes when using libtool-2.2 and the LT_OUTPUT macro appears in configure.ac. * Ensure /usr/share/aclocal directory is preserved * Also added info file to alternatives set (as is done in automake1.9 and automake1.10 already) Testsuite results: ======================================================= All 510 tests behaved as expected (3 expected failures) (20 tests were not run) ======================================================= (results differ from those reported for cygwin-1.5 because this was run as Administrator) -- Charles Wilson volunteer automake maintainer for cygwin
