-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I would like to break out gnome-libs-1.4.2 into distinct packages for each library, namely:
libart_lgpl-2.2.0 libgnome libgnomesupport libgnomeui libgnorba libgtkxmhtml libzvt My reasoning is two-fold: 1) Many GNOME 1.4 applications only require up to libgnomeui and don't use the last three, and in addition; 2) libgnorba requires ORBit, and libgtkxmhtml requires libjpeg and libpng, which the others do not. Therefore packaging gnome-libs with a runtime/devel/doc approach may pull in a lot of unused stuff. But there's a caveat: The current libart_lgpl-2.3.x package (which, BTW, has been bumped upstream to 2.3.17) will need to renamed to libart_lgpl2. I believe this can be accomplished smoothly though, as I plan to do with libIDL. Commments/questions?
