-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Changes from 3.0-8: + fix postinstall script to not nuke sh.1 man page + once again, dynamically link against libreadline, now that it has a hook to allow bash to override getenv() + apply patch from Keith Reynolds to use spawnve() where possible. I noticed some speedup, but not like the 50% he reported at http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-bash/2005-07/msg00123.html
Changes from 3.0-9: + disable spawnve() patch - it put the wrong value in $? and didn't restore tty handling correctly + fix path parsing to allow "a:\file.exe" as a program name, and "cd a:\" as an absolute directory I've noticed that the postinstall script 00bash.sh does not upgrade the shell when it is executed by /bin/sh, even though it tries to do an "exec" to overlay /bin/sh before doing the copy. Since the preremove script idea didn't work, is there any way that the next setup.exe can be made to respect the #!/bin/bash line when choosing the shell to execute, rather falling back to /bin/bash only when /bin/sh isn't found? Because libreadline6-5.0-3 is still marked test, this version is also in test, leaving bash-3.0-8 as the current version. You can delete bash-3.0-9, since it is no longer referenced in the setup.hint. I've played with building readline-5.0-4, but don't have any changes to it yet to be worth a release; I think I can follow what Chuck has done, so I'm happy to take over readline maintainence. I hope that with another week of testing, I can do a simultaneous bump to current of readline -4 and bash -10. file size md5sum http://home.comcast.net/~ericblake/bash-3.0-10.tar.bz2 534354 a2ec698d960132478492fc5d6aecc15a http://home.comcast.net/~ericblake/bash-3.0-10-src.tar.bz2 2499653 2a6443ca849d5db07e558f55f51f6d17 http://home.comcast.net/~ericblake/bash.setup.hint (prev: 2.05b-17, curr: 3.0-8, test: 3.0-10) 540 7c018e6b6a7c1b3d001e9aaa2cf21bf6 - -- Life is short - so eat dessert first!
