Current libtool is 1.9x? Is it a bug? Never used this for 1.5.10.
This is with 1.5.10; guess you never had to manually update a non-automake Makefile.in after libtoolizing. I've had to do this with sqlite and the GNOME 1.4 packages, which are too old to simply autoreconf. If you don't, libtool will let you know about it.
