Yes, that's an embarassingly stupid response to the problem. His solution of "don't make it fatal" is just silly - most of the configure issues can be solved with a couple of changes to config.m4 in the appropriate place in "etc/foo" or by setting SHLIB_EXTENSION to .dll.a and not .so. Brian
