1. Welcome to
Southern Tuscany, Italy
 |
Southern Tuscany stretches beyond the South of Sienna… This is
an extraordinary land because of its beautiful landscape, rich
history and delicious food. More than in the cities, it’s in the
small towns and the Tuscan countryside that one can breathe the
spirit of the medieval times.

2. Springtime Country
Food Festivals
Tuscan villages, never allowing a year to pass
without multiple celebrations, honor everything from truffles to
thrush, olive oil to wine. These village festivals are called
"sagre". It is a way for the villagers to gather in the "piazza"
(the square) and enjoy the good times with lots of food, wine and
music.

7. Spas Abound in
Tuscany
|
|
Tuscany is the region with more naturals spring than any other
region in Italy. The Romans believed that there was nothing more
stimulating and regenerating than bathing in hot water. Today many
Italian spas retain the same beliefs of the Romans and combine it
with a healthy diet, exercise, and relaxation.

8. Recipe for the
Soul – La Cucina Povera Toscana
|
Tuscan Way cooking courses focus on the much
acclaimed "Cucina Povera" the poor cuisine. It’s the peasant’s
cuisine where centuries of creativity and limited international food
supplies led Southern Tuscans to explore every imaginable ingredient
and recipe combination that was readily available to them locally.
The olive oil is made from the region’s own olive trees, the
vegetables are from the local peasants’ gardens. The result: fresh,
simple food full of flavor.
